Cresswell is one of the schools original Houses being founded in 1954. It is named after Mr. Hamblet Cresswell, a local politician and the First Lord Mayor of Coventry. The House has occupied a number of different buildings and is now located next to the car park on the left of the main drive. The current House Head is Mr. P. Hunter and he is supported by his deputy Mr S Hall and seven tutors.

Students in Cresswell are expected to take an active role in the life of the House. 15 of our senior students are given specified positions of responsibility and are expected to demonstrate the highest standards to junior pupils. The House has an enviable sporting history. We are currently the proud holders of twelve inter house competition trophies and have won the prestigious sports day trophy. We also promote other activities and have several talented actors and musicians in the House. All tutor groups in Cresswell participate in at least one assembly each year and the House has been entertained by musical performances, poetry readings and students discussing such topics as “my hero” and “my proudest moment”!
